Manson Photography Effective Date: August 17, 2026 Last Updated: August 18, 2026

Manson Photography ("Manson Photography," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at brianmanson.com (the "Site"), through which we offer licensed copies of photographs. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from visitors to the Site, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights available to you.

By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Site.

1. Who We Are

Manson Photography is a sole proprietorship. You can contact us regarding this Privacy Policy, or to exercise any of the rights described below, at:

Email: photographybymanson@gmail.com

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

a. Information You Provide Directly

  • Sign-up / mailing list: If you sign up to receive information, updates, or promotions from us, we collect the information you provide, such as your name and email address.
  • Contact form: If you submit an inquiry through our contact form (for example, to ask about licensing a photograph), we collect the information you include, such as your name, email address, and the content of your message.
  • Purchases: If you purchase a photo license through the Site, the order is processed through our e-commerce platform, Shopify. See Section 4 below for details on Shopify's role.

b. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information may be collected automatically through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies, including:

  • Device and browser information (such as browser type, operating system, and device type)
  • IP address and general location information (such as city or region, inferred from IP address)
  • Pages viewed, links clicked, referring website, and time spent on the Site
  • Approximate information about how you found the Site or interacted with our marketing

We and our service providers may use analytics and advertising tools (such as Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, or similar tools) to collect this information and to help us understand how visitors use the Site and, where applicable, to measure or improve our advertising. These tools may set cookies or use similar tracking technologies in your browser. You can control cookies through your browser settings; see Section 8 below.

c. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or store payment card information (such as credit or debit card numbers). All payment processing is handled directly by Shopify and its payment processors. See Section 4 below.

We do not knowingly direct the Site or our sign-up list to children, and we do not ask visitors for their age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email above so we can address it.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form
  • To send information, updates, and promotional communications to individuals who sign up to receive them
  • To process and fulfill photo license purchases (in conjunction with Shopify)
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Site
  • To understand how visitors use the Site, through analytics
  • To comply with legal obligations, and to protect our rights and the security of the Site

We do not use the information collected through Shopify for any purpose other than contacting individuals who have signed up to receive information from us, fulfilling orders, and operating the Site as described in this Policy.

If we begin using an email marketing platform such as Shopify Email, Klaviyo, or Mailchimp to send communications to our sign-up list, that platform will process your email address and related engagement data (such as opens and clicks) on our behalf, subject to that platform's own privacy and security practices. We currently anticipate using Shopify Email for this purpose.

4. Shopify — Our E-Commerce Platform

The Site is built and hosted on Shopify, and purchases made through the Site are processed using Shopify's e-commerce and payment infrastructure. As a result, Shopify will collect and process certain personal information on our behalf and, in some cases, as an independent controller/processor of its own — including information such as your name, billing and shipping details, IP address, device information, and payment information necessary to complete a transaction.

We do not collect, view in full, or store your payment card information. Shopify and its payment processors handle that information directly, in accordance with applicable payment card industry (PCI) security standards.

Shopify's own privacy practices, including how it collects, uses, and protects information, are governed by Shopify's Privacy Policy, available at: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy

We encourage you to review Shopify's Privacy Policy to understand how it handles information in connection with hosting the Site and processing transactions.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

We may share information with:

  • Shopify, as our e-commerce and hosting platform (see Section 4)
  • Service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as email delivery/marketing platforms (e.g., Shopify Email), analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics), and similar vendors, solely to help us operate the Site and communicate with you
  • Legal and safety purposes, where we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or property, or protect the safety of visitors to the Site or others

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site, through Shopify and any analytics or advertising tools we use, may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to:

  • Enable core Site functionality (such as remembering items in your cart)
  • Understand how visitors use the Site
  • Measure the performance of any advertising or promotions we run

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Site, including your ability to complete a purchase.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy — for example, to respond to your inquiry, maintain our mailing list until you unsubscribe, or as required by applicable tax, accounting, or legal obligations related to any purchase. Information processed by Shopify is retained in accordance with Shopify's own policies and applicable law.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Marketing communications: You may opt out of receiving marketing emails from us at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in those emails, or by contacting us at photographybymanson@gmail.com. Note that you may still receive transactional communications related to a purchase (such as order confirmations).

Cookies: You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Some browsers also offer "Do Not Track" or similar signals; because there is not yet a common industry standard for responding to these signals, the Site does not currently respond to them.

Access, correction, or deletion: Regardless of where you are located, you may contact us at photographybymanson@gmail.com to ask what personal information we hold about you, to request a correction, or to request that we delete it. We will respond to verifiable requests within a reasonable time and consistent with applicable law. Please note that some information (such as records associated with a completed Shopify order) may be retained or controlled by Shopify independently of us.

California visitors: Manson Photography does not meet the revenue, data volume, or data-sales thresholds that trigger full obligations under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by California law. As a matter of good practice, we will nonetheless honor requests from California residents to know, access, or delete their personal information, submitted to photographybymanson@gmail.com, to the extent we are able to do so. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Visitors outside the United States: The Site is hosted in the United States and intended for a general, worldwide audience. If you access the Site from outside the United States, including from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or elsewhere, please understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer and processing. If you are located in the EEA or UK, you may still contact us at the email above regarding your information, and we will make reasonable efforts to address your request consistent with applicable law.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect, and we rely in part on the security measures maintained by Shopify for information processed through the Site. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including Shopify's own policies and, where relevant, social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after any changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
